I've read that the gnats like to go for the highest point.  I added a grassy weed to my pony-tail to attract the little guys away from my face.

Bayfield - It's Sunday and we are in town.

The fishing fleet came in alongside Bodin's Fisheries - those little boats turn on a dime.

They come into the canal front first and turn around so they're headed out for morning.

From the fishing pier -

We went to the beach, walked along in the water and the vicious attacks began -

the black flies have hatched and they are "biting-mad".

Even in the rain - LUPINES!
